SkullTone

ROCK / EXPERIMENTAL / IMPRO

Fanny Lasfargues - electro-acoustic bass, voice, electronic
Emmanuel Scarpa - drums, voice, electronic

SkullTone brings together two rhythmic stalwarts in an extraordinary duo. It rocks with a grainy sound, it's sometimes improvised with the lightning reactivity we know them for, all woven together by electronics produced in real time.
We've never heard these two sing before... they sing at the top of their voices, behind an imaginary singer who may never arrive.

« Headbangers and new skulls. Skulltone is for headbangers and headbands alike. Much more than just a backing band with a voice, this duo - now a trio - is a down-to-earth, down-to-earth type, with both feet on the ground. Ascending breaks, organic keyboards that play counterpoint, throaty scansions. Percussion is at every station: drums, bass and vocals. It hits, it bangs, it pulses. With perfect hints of uncontrolled adolescence, with healthy, urgent anger at the way the world is going. It's rock, it's powerful, it's white-hot, but nothing is forced through. The three musicians in this group are known for their finesse and obsessive precision. The tête-à-tête is all the more effective, emptying both body and mind. »
